We have men and women’s ministry at 7 pm on Wednesday nights. We offer Children’s classes on Sunday mornings at 9:45 am and Wednesday nights at 7 pm. We would love to have you come as you are and join us. Our goal is to have our worship services centered on Jesus Christ. We use a mix of traditional music. We believe worship should be God centered not man centered. We understand that we are singing not only about our faith but to our Father to uplift His name and not ours. So, worship is not about entertainment but elevating the name above every name Jesus Christ. We love the old Hymns and sing them every week to the glory of God not man. We believe in The Westminster Confession of Faith.
Core History:
Core Community Church was started in September 2019 after years of wanting more than just going to church and going through the motions. We wanted more than just another Church service just another song just another activity, we wanted to know Jesus more to love others more to experience true Christianity.
We knew we probably wouldn’t be able to practice that and experience that in the traditional Church setting. Because of that we started meeting in one another’s homes and studying scripture and praying to see what God wanted our Church to look like and be. We wanted to get back to the core of Christianity and Core Church was born. We are excited about what God is doing as we continually grow and seek His will. We are excited about the future because we understand that Christianity was never to be a monument but a movement not a building but a body alive by the power and indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Our Church now meets at what used to be Rocky River Baptist at 11525 Rocky River Road Concord, N.C.
28025. We were able to acquire this property and held our first service in April 2024. Since that time our congregation has grown significantly. We are currently remodeling the property and thank God for meeting the needs of our Church.
Core Mission:
Jesus was once asked what is the greatest commandment.
Jesus responded to Love God with all your heart soul and mind and the second greatest commandment was to love your neighbor as yourself {Matthew 22:36-40} Loving God and loving others that is what being a Christian looks like. It doesn’t mean sentimental romantic love but a self-sacrificial agape love, a committed love,
a love that endures and speaks truth into one another’s lives. It is a love that forgives because we have been forgiven. It is a love that loves on best days and worst days. If we focus on those two things everything else falls into place. So, our mission statement is loving God loving others.
Core Family:
We sang a song when I was growing up called, I'm so glad I'm a part of the family of God. The problem with that was It never felt like a family. We worshipped for years with almost complete strangers. We knew each other’s names, but the relationships were surface level. So different from the early Church and the Biblical command to love one another pray for one another, weep and rejoice with one another. We believe that we should spend time with one another in bible study and prayer but also laughing together having fun together working with one another and counseling one another. The Spirit filled life is more than showing up at a building once or twice a week and having meetings. It is about the body of Christ being together through all the joys and sorrows of life. Building relationships takes time and effort. That is why when we get together no one is in a hurry to leave. We love being together. If that sounds strange or exciting to you come and see what we’re all about and join the Core Family.
Core Beliefs:
We believe the Bible is the inerrant inspired and infallible Word of God. We believe in the literal interpretation of Scripture except in areas where it is obviously symbolic. We believe that God is Triune in nature, Father Son and Holy Spirit. We Believe that Jesus is the only Son of God born of a virgin lived a sinless life and died on the cross for our sins, descended into hell and rose on the third day ascended to the Father and is coming again to set up His kingdom and rule and reign forever. We believe in a literal heaven and hell. Those who are born again who know Jesus as their Savior and Lord and will spend eternity with Him. Those who reject Jesus Christ spend eternity separated
from God in Hell and ultimately the Lake of Fire. We believe that salvation is of the Lord by Grace through Faith that it is a gift of God not of works lest anyone should boast {Ephesians 2}. We are Reformed in our Faith and Practice. We hold to an idealist approach to Eschatology and are Amillenial in our understanding of the book of Revelation. We are 5-point Calvinist and hold to the Westminster Association. We are a mission minded Family and love supporting local missions like Hell fighters, Charlotte Rescue Mission and Baptist Children’s Home. We also support two missionary families one in the Philippines and one in Papua New Guinea. Sola De Gloria!
